It’s 2016 somewhere: Midnight around the world

Austrapa and New Zealand were among the first to ring in 2016, and the celebrations proceeded from there. Here are the first seconds of the New Year around the world in photos. (We’ll continue to update this throughout the day.)

Roy Jhonson

Jeff Kinney was born in 1971 in Maryland and attended the University of Maryland in the early 1990s. It was there that Jeff ran a comic strip called “Igdoof” in the campus newspaper, and he knew he wanted to be a cartoonist.
